International Patients
This page explains, step by step, how care is organised for patients who travel to Ankara from abroad for treatment with Op. Dr. Eda Çabuk Horoz (ENT & facial plastic surgery). Whether you contact us directly, through a referring physician or through an authorised medical travel agency, the steps below are the same and your information is handled by our own international patient team, who will assist you in English.

1. Services and scope
Consultations, examinations, non-surgical treatments and follow-up visits take place at the clinic in Neorama Plaza. Surgical procedures are performed in a fully equipped hospital operating theatre in Ankara under the responsibility of Dr. Horoz and the hospital's anaesthesia team.
- Rhinoplasty – primary, revision and ethnic rhinoplasty, septoplasty, conchaplasty
- Facial plastic surgery – prominent ear surgery, bichectomy, chin aesthetics, eyelid surgery, lip lift, dimple surgery
- Non-surgical treatments – nose, midface, cheek, temporal and lip fillers, botulinum toxin
Every treatment starts with an individual assessment. Whether a procedure is suitable for you, and which option is appropriate, is decided by the surgeon after reviewing your medical history and examination findings. No procedure is promised or scheduled before this assessment.
2. How to apply (admission)
- First contact. Write to us via the contact form, WhatsApp or e-mail. Tell us which treatment you are interested in and where you are travelling from.
- Medical history and photographs. We will ask you to complete the Medical History Form (PDF) and to send clear photographs of the area concerned. Your family medical history, previous operations and any complications, current medications, and drug or food allergies are essential for a safe assessment.
- Online consultation. Dr. Horoz reviews your information and, where appropriate, arranges a video consultation to discuss your expectations, the possible options, their risks and the expected recovery.
- Written treatment plan. You receive a written summary: the recommended procedure, where it will be performed, the recommended length of stay in Ankara, what is included, what you need to prepare, and the pre-operative instructions. Please read it carefully and ask us anything that is unclear before you make a decision.
- Confirmation and dates. Once you confirm, we agree on the consultation, procedure and follow-up dates together with the hospital.
If you are referred by an agency, the agency arranges your travel and appointments; the medical assessment, information and consent process is always carried out by our team directly with you.
3. Before you travel
- Bring your passport, your completed Medical History Form, previous medical reports, imaging and a list of all medications you take (generic names and doses).
- Follow the written pre-operative instructions you received (for example regarding smoking, alcohol, blood-thinning medication and supplements). If anything in your health changes before travel – a cold, fever, new medication, pregnancy – tell us before you fly.
- Recommended stay: for rhinoplasty and most facial surgery, patients usually stay in Ankara for about 7–10 days so that the first check-ups and dressing/splint removal can be done by the surgeon. The exact duration is stated in your treatment plan.
- Plan to travel with a companion where possible, especially for surgery under general anaesthesia.
4. Arrival, consultation and treatment in Ankara
- Transfer and accommodation. On request, our team helps you arrange airport transfer and suggests accommodation close to the clinic. Travel and accommodation are organised as a convenience service; they are separate from the medical service and are confirmed with you in writing.
- Face-to-face consultation. Your first appointment is an examination and a final discussion of the plan. You will be informed again about the procedure, alternatives, risks, expected results and recovery, and you sign the informed consent form only after all your questions are answered.
- Pre-operative tests. Blood tests, anaesthesia assessment and any other required examinations are carried out at the hospital before surgery.
- Procedure day. You are admitted to the hospital; the length of stay (day-case or overnight) depends on the procedure and is stated in your plan.
- First check-ups. Follow-up visits at the clinic are scheduled before you leave Ankara.
5. Discharge and travelling home
- At discharge you receive a discharge summary in English describing the procedure, the medications prescribed and the care instructions, together with contact details for questions.
- Fitness to fly: your surgeon tells you when it is safe to travel. As a rule you should not fly before your final check-up in Ankara. Air travel, heavy lifting and pressure changes can affect healing; follow the specific advice you receive for your procedure.
- Keep your discharge summary and medication list with you during the journey, and carry your medications in your hand luggage in their original packaging.
6. Follow-up after you return home
- Follow-up continues remotely: we schedule photo and video check-ins at the intervals stated in your plan and remain reachable by e-mail and WhatsApp for questions.
- If you notice unexpected symptoms – increasing pain, fever, bleeding, spreading redness or discharge – contact us immediately and, if necessary, seek local medical care. Please inform us of any treatment you receive locally so that your records stay complete.
7. Safe use of medication
- You receive a written medication schedule (generic names, doses, timing and duration) in English, and it is explained to you before discharge.
- Tell us about every medication, supplement and allergy before treatment – interactions and allergies are checked before anything is prescribed.
- Do not stop, change or add medication without consulting us. If a medicine is not available in your country, ask us for an equivalent before you travel back.
- Take enough supply for your journey; keep medications in their original packaging with the prescription.
8. Materials, dressings and equipment after treatment
Depending on the procedure you may go home with a nasal splint, tapes, dressings, silicone sheets or a compression garment. Before discharge you are shown how to use them, how long to keep them, how to clean or replace them, and when they will be removed or should be disposed of. Any items to be returned or brought to a follow-up visit are listed in your discharge summary. Replacement materials, where needed, can be supplied by the clinic before you travel.
9. Your privacy
Your personal and health information is processed in line with Turkish data protection law (KVKK) and, for residents of the European Union, the GDPR. It is shared only with the people involved in your care and only as far as necessary. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.
10. Your feedback matters
We welcome your comments, suggestions and complaints at every stage, and after your treatment we ask you to complete a short satisfaction survey. Both are available on our Feedback & Survey page. Every complaint is acknowledged and reviewed by our team.
